ArtOrder Variations on a Theme

I'm doing this weeks art order over at http://artorder.blogspot.com/. I decided to try it at the last minute, but I had a really good feeling about it, so here goes. I need to make 3 variations on a simple 3/4 view portrait of a D&D character.

I started out knowing I wanted to do a gnome but not much else. About 20 minutes before I stopped working on this I decided I want to do a series of gnomish bird riders. So I will make 3 variations for different bird species. Can't wait to get some more time on this one. It's been a while since I did anything fantasy.

This is the version that I ended up turning in. I would have liked to do a lot more with it, but I ran out of time.

I spent all of yesterday painting here at Reverie. It was fun but it was at the expense of getting feedback from the wealth of talent here. I am going to be focusing more mining the available resources today.

I submitted this to the thunderdome competition here at Reverie. I want to keep working with it.

Watching Aleksi work in person really inspired me to try some new techniques as far as painting and using photos. I want to try my hand at doing more environmental pieces. They are a lot more fun to do when I feel like I have more creativity and control over the space.

Building Content

Almost done with the site construction but it's gotten to the point where I am happy to have people see it. From now on, this is going to be the primary place where I post stuff. So if you are watching me on DA, make sure to pop in and check this out every once in a while. I'm going to be putting a lot of effort into making it an interesting place to keep coming back to. In the mean time, here is a wip that I have posted other places but you probably haven't seen.
